Thanks for the answers. Just trying to be sensible on the spec as have already too much tied up on cars  (i3 and 996 c4) and replacing current SUV.

Has anyone tried the non-Bose system? (standard)

Although I haven't tried the standard sound system I have the Bose on my 2018MY Cayenne S. Imho, it has a much, much better sound than with the Bose that I had in my Macan. Another item that I thought was a luxury, and probably unnecessary, but now I definitely wouldn't spec a car without it is the lane change assist. It makes driving so much more effortless, especially on dual carriageways and motorways.

I concur. I have the Bose as standard on my Cayenne Turbo and imho it is on par with the Burmester that I had in my Macan. Incidentally, I had a Burmester in a Cayenne loaner recently and I preffer my Bose. That was probably down to me spending hours fine tuning the Bose and only fiddling with the Burmester. Plus, it also depends a lot on the source of the music. Even different DAB stations can sound miles different from one and other

Hi smithy,

that is really interesting to know, do you mind sharing your tuning for the sound system in case I go with bose?

For what it’s worth, here are my settings. Sound is very subjective and certainly down to personal preference. I have a slight hearing impediment in one ear where I can’t hear certain ranges of sound. However, I do like Bass & the sub in the car can handle my heavy settings.

I can’t stress enough that the source music will have a massive influence on the results. Rubbish in, rubbish out.

Good luck.

Thanks - that is really awesome, will let you know once the order is locked down (sounds like february /march now)..Bose is the last piece of the puzzle now, went into the dealership today and the spec as it stands is the following:

- 3.0 Base Cayenne
- Moonlight Blue
- Black/Mojave Beige Interior
- Wheels: 21 Cayenne RS Spyder design
- Panoramic Roof
- Privacy Glass
- Compass display on dashboard
- Heated front seats
- Loadspace management system (for the dog)

I keep kicking myself as well about the rear seat airbags (welcome views)

Yes - will add this to mine; no need at the moment but will always have it on my mind if carrying rear passengers.

Thinking of downgrading to 20s design wheel with coloured crest and upgrading to 18 way seats. I really value the extender tight support when driving long distances and think I may regret not upgrading it. And 20s is already a good size whell by all standards especially in narrow roads if you have to drive up the curb for two-way traffic

Will probably give the internal mood lights a miss unless critical?

Also debating with the Bose upgrade - have use your guide for bose on the standard system of my Q7 and it is a great improvement so tempted to go for the base one.
