I know all you young guys wont remember it but a long time ago I fitted halogen bulbs which were a revelation compared with the standard bulbs of the time.

I recall replacing the tungsten bulbs with halogen ones on my first car, I can't recall whether I found them a vast improvement but I was much younger then and night vision was very good - tungsten bulbs had pretty much disappeared from new cars sometime during the 80s I believe.
