I've seen the reviews and they all say really good things about the car - just can't help thinking it's overpriced at 90k though - much more expensive than it's peers e.g. RS6 and E63AMG.

Suzuki Swift Sport

Not really though...the RS6 (standard or PE) isn't the new M5's peer - one at start of life, one at end. The E63 isn't the direct competitor either, it's the E63s. When you spec both care (E63s/M5) to comparable levels, there's very little in it - when you look to finance, you realise you should just get a Porsche...residuals are toilet on both... (all if you include the RS6's).

On the M5 - I have seriously fallen out with BMW over it (well my local delaer anyway). told them I was in the market late last year, but wanted to see/drive the car before committing to an order...no contact to this date. D1cks.

Never driven a M5 but I've seen a lot of videos and ready many reviews The issue for me about this car is that there seems to be 100's of permutations of settings for suspension, acceleration, gear change etc, etc........ Who has the time to do this

I just want to get in the car and push one button (Sport or Sport +) and off you go.

Porsche wins every time no matter the model.

I thought with M product that you could configure all your settings to just how you like them and then store them to a button that allows you to select your overall custom setting at the touch of a button?

Yes there are two buttons on the steering wheel M1 and M2 that can be configured to your personal selection. One for you and one for your significant other, or perhaps "hooning" and "cruising" modes!

Yes configurable M1 and M2 buttons. I used to set one button all options Sport Plus the other for cruising in my old M3.

The pic shows the buttons in the new M5.

My local dealer called me for a test drive as soon as they had one. If you are interested they have a cancelled order due for delivery this August/September. The customer service varies between dealerships and some just don't care. I guess that can be true across the board although I have always had great service from Porsche.

I was looking but opted for the Macan TPP as it met my needs (and got me in to a Porsche)...Next stop for me will be a 911 hoping for a 992 GTS...I love the 991.2 GTS, but just couldn't make the maths work, so hopefully the 992 still works for me, if not I'll look 2nd hand 991.2 in around 18-24 months...
