Asked about a winter wheel/tyre set for my Carrera T today.

The OPC don't offer a free of charge storage/swap over service. They use a Tyre Hotel at Porsche GB (Reading). Storage quoted at £300 per year. Swap-over quoted at £60 per set per swap.

Tequipment quotes £3,151 for these 19" Carrera wheels with winter tyres (excluding wheel centres).

OPC quoted £3,131.96 including first year's storage, first two swap-overs and a set of wheel centres.

How does that deal sound to anyone that has a Porsche winter wheel/tyre set? :geek:

£300 to store a set of wheels is taking the P*** a bit! I have a big garage, think I need to get into wheel storage.

Can't you find somewhere at home to store and swap them over yourself to save a few more pounds.

Fairly expensive for the wheel/tyre set, but not ridiculous. A few years ago Porsche used to discount winter wheel sets, I think I paid something like £1500 for my 18" set and storage/changing wheels was all free. £300 per year AND £60 per swap doesn't seem like a good deal at all. Have you called another OPC?

10% discount on the wheels and tyres for Porsche Club GB members, Wing Co.
Colchester have stored and swapped my Macan sets at no cost.
I will see how they react when I get a "winter" set for the C4 - but I won't expect anything less than the excellent service to date.

Thanks, Wallaby. I mentioned that. They said their offer was already better than the 10% discount, as they were throwing in wheel centres, a year's storage and two swap-overs.

I'm inclined to agree with MCDK that charging £300 a year to store them is taking the piss. I'm pretty sure Reading store them for free so may be worth seeing if you can get a deal on a set from them as you're only in Swindon.

I'm already dreading how much a set of centre locks with winter tyres is going to cost me!
