Bolzano is stunning. We stayed just outside at...

Der Eggentaler. Eggentalerstrasse 47, Cardano 39053.

We can certainly recommend the restaurant there.

Bolzano and area is magnificent; Italian towns host many motoring events, Rival del Garda, Lucca and of course Brescia. A few weeks ago, a fair bit south of Bolzano, I went to Desenzano to see the 1000 (Mille) Miglia pass through. Jackie Ickx was in a 550 Spyder, which I missed, but also a certain Herr Röhrl und Geistdörfer in a Porsche 356 Carrera GS. The event organisers allow 100 Ferraris and 50 Mercs to go ahead of the classic cars, starting one checkpoint ahead. Lots to see for petrolheads, and many UK entrants.

So many wonderful and promising options given a little more research, notice and opportunity.

Mille Miglia (I saw it was passing through Lucca; a place we love.
Porsche’s birthday - we drove around Stuttgart the day it started. Didn’t see anything much going that way apart from a GT3RS on trailer.
French Grand Prix
Le Mans
Monaco - the historic one
The various vehicle museums.

I don’t think a holiday built around too many of the above would sit too well with Mrs D though.

Yes Indeed Danock, Mrs B is quite tolerant and we have 3 days in Strasbourg this year, I hear there are a few Bugattis in a shed somewhere nearby, or will it be a river boat trip?

I like how they are allowed to display the cars in the town centres or drive through them. Good for the local trade as well.
But then they do tend to have large squares.

Thanks all for sharing the pics. 8-)
