Nearly done now.

After 7 nights at Chianciano near Montepulciano we had 3 at Garda then 2 at Überlingen on Lake Constance.

Today we went across country and up through the Black Forest on the famous 500. Midweek but still too much traffic to enjoy it probably. Then eventually picked up the Autobahn and a blast up to Heidelberg.

One very embarrassing moment when Heidi got her roads crossed right outside a Mercedes factory in Gaggenau!

Most frightening; any Italian driving a Volvo. A potentially fatal cocktail! :o

Observation. Shell Racing seems to be about 20 cents dearer than most everything else!

If people think it’s useful I’ll give a list of hotels etc and comments on a new thread once we get home.

Oh... and significant roadworks on the A5 Autobahn west and NW of Baden-Baden!

Don’t suppose you went as far as Isola Bella / Stressa (Lac Maggiore) Mike? We’re booked in to the modest (but pricey) Hotel Flora in Sept unless you have any better recommendations ...?

No, Col, if that was the case I’d be driving a Turbo PP!
