The one thing which he said that really struck me was that the 991 GT3 feels small compared to other 991s. I think he is spot on with that comment, having owned a 996 C4S and 991.1 C4GTS 991.2 C4GTS - the 996 felt like a small sports car, the 991s certainly felt more grand tourers than the 996. What they've done with the GT3 is something special as it feels like a small raw sports car and I guess that's the unique proposition of the GT3 and GT3 RS.
The thing you realise after owning a GT3 is that all other 911s feel like a sanitised experience and I for one have loved all my 911s, they are all awesome cars but the GT3 is just something special.
I feel extremely privileged to own one albeit mine is PDK.The gearbox changes gear far more quickly and expertly than I could with a manual!

Interestingly, Top Gear magazine did a video where their reviewer drove a 991.2 Carrera T and a 991.2 GT3 with Touring Pack back to back. He said that the GT3 felt like a bigger car than the T...
He said he'd take the GT3, if given the choice (no surprise there) but that the margin between the GT3 and the T was much smaller than he had imagined it would be.

It is an option, but I don't have it on mine.
Had it on the Panamera.
Wasn't totally convinced that it was worth adding it to the T.

To be exact I suppose the T is actually smaller than a GT3. The T is based on the narrow-bodied 911 and the GT3 on the wider 4WD shell.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 9:10 amMacanArif wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 8:42 am The one thing which he said that really struck me was that the 991 GT3 feels small compared to other 991s. I would still have my concerns about the longevity of the GT3 engine. Lots of issues especially in America, with blown engines.

Hi Col,
Some of us like the iconic shape of the 911, still clearly linked to that design from the sixties! Indeed, it's a big part of the charm & character of a 911!
Cheers,
Simon

Lots of wonderful sports cars out there Col, and given an unlimited supply of money I would have one of each, but if I am to be restricted to one then the 911 it will be.

Nobody drives them enough over here to blow the engine! I think most of them are garage queens which is a real shame for a car that needs to be driven although maybe a saving grace if they have fragile engines.Rab J wrote: ↑Fri Jul 06, 2018 12:47 pmTo be exact I suppose the T is actually smaller than a GT3.
