The Bristol chapter of the Macan Forum (well, 3 blokes and their wives who used to drive Macans but who actually went in a pick-n-mix of 911s and a TTS Roadster!) has just returned from a super near 2 week break to the South West corner of France.
Great cars, great roads, great food, great weather and great company made for a thoroughly enjoyable break.
We all made our own separate ways to Thonon-Les-Bains and then took a fairly leisurely 5 days to wind our way over 16 of the highest passes in the Alps (although our respective partners might question the leisurely bit on occasions - but there was no racing, honest!) We finished up in Menton and then made our own separate way back to the UK.
I hope this google drive link works,
if not I'm happy to send the PDF of our complete route by PM (although I can't take full credit for the content as it's a bit of a "copy paste compilation" with a small contribution from me!)
To whet your appetites.......Nuclear Nick coming up Le Col du Galibier @ 2600 Metres

Very nice, thank you for sharing, one to put on the list!
We saw a few white 911's at the Calais terminal of Eurotunnel on Sunday afternoon, around 3/4 pm. Was your lot some of them?
A chap in an older but desirable 911 Spyder said they were coming back from driving the romantic route and did some 2,000 miles.
The Calais terminal car park was like a Porsche show, quite a few interesting examples there on Sunday afternoon. We thought it had to do with the Spa 6 hour Classic taking place last weekend.

I've been up the Galibier on a bike. Near the top is a monument to Henri Desgranges, inventor of the Tour de France. Any mountain over 2,000m is tough on the lungs.

+1. Looks very inviting. Not sure Mrs D would agree, though.

We had a blast, it must be said. We did a few passes last year in the Macan, which was great, but the 911 was truly awesome on those fabulous roads. The only downside was coming back. Once on that b****y M20 on Saturday, part of which was shut, we were reminded how bad UK roads are and how good French ones are. We nearly headed back to the tunnel.........
