I reckon this looks like the new Macan's 2 litre base engine.

0-60...4.8s. Jesus!

SQ2 may be a little lighter than the Macan but that sort of performance is...wow. Lol!

It will still be a bland Audi, but that is mainstream Audi, build quality will be there and materials will be consistant with other models.

Size of the car is great, it is the size that I really want. The drawback is that it has an engine and not electric motors.

Had a play on the Audi Configurator

SQ model is not yet there so configured the most powerful TFSI, 0-60 in 6.5s so about the same as a base 2.0 Macan.

Β£37,000 with all the bells and whistles that I have on my Macan sans heated steering wheel which was not there so thats a deal breaker to start off with.

For me I think Q2 is just a little too small, the seating space in the second row looks rather tight for larger people or longer journeys. But for me the real killer is the dash layout with the worst sort of iPad stuck on the dash display and what's below the iPad isn't well resolved either. Something has obviously changed at Audi interior design over the past year or two - the 2019 Q3 dash looks a much more professional effort than Q2. Trouble is that the next (R)SQ3 looks to be anything up to 2 years away - though no-one really seems to know for sure - which is much too far away for me.

Cupra Ateca should break cover properly in the near future, as might a Tiguan R. But I suspect that the Cupra just won't have a premium enough interior and the Tiguan R is not too much more than a guess - maybe VW will focus their R efforts on the T-Roc R, which again seems likely to appear imminently (albeit with its low-rent interior). Unless there's news in the next 3-4 weeks it looks like I'll have to compromise on my size preferences and commit to I-Pace.

Maybe the same engine, but no way will it be tuned to 296bhp for the 2.0 Macan. :geek:

Currently 252hp (not bhp, which is slightly lower) so yep, maybe up to 270 to 275hp (about 266 to 271 bhp). :geek: :ugeek: ;)
