Out of interest, does anyone have any experience of a PPF company in Peterborough called paint-shield as they are relatively local to me

I am looking at a full front and side PPF treatment on the cayman once I have it

Thanks

It shows it is being looked after. Justin at Exclusive Car Care will also apply PPF when he gets the car. Do you find that it makes a quick clean easier and if the film dulls a little over time? Just curious?

The film is 'self-healing' so you can be a little more 'vigorous' removing bugs, tree sap, bird droppings etc, as minor scratches simply 'heal' with heat. On the Cayman (and probably the 911) having the front bumper done is an absolute must. As you can see from the photos the bumper kit goes into all the corners accurately, behind the lights and around the panel joints so there is very little visually to suggest PPF is installed. Similarly I had the bonnet done(Porsche emblem removed and then replaced on top), the wing mirrors and the full rocker panels on both sides. Additionally, I had the rear bumper lower area (behind the rear wheels) done as stones and grit tends to 'mottle' the paint in this lower area.
Overall, very happy with the result, not cheap but well worth it to protect key areas. You can polish, ceramic coat etc, the PPF as you would the rest of the car-mine has not suffered from any dullness since fitting. Ensure your installer is well practised on the curves of the Porsche bumper and don't worry about small water bubbles as the film is breathable so they evaporate away after a few weeks of warm, dry weather 👍

Hi
Had my 911.2 covered in May. Ann was the contact. Interestingly mine was their first with the “revised” 991.2 front bumper. (No I didn’t know that either).
Paintshield had to cut a new front film to match (although they could have bodged it) - extra day in their complimentary 330D which was fun.
Don’t think there is any difference to the ease of general washing or the final finish - the sparkle in my night blue is undiminished. However I do believe the deposits from the local seagull population are much easier to remove even than from my crystal serum protected 981 a few years back.
If you are a PCGB member Paintshield offer a discount which more than paid for the fuel used in getting there and back x2 (total 400 miles). Used frog tape to protect the frontage on the drive up there.

Service excellent and I was able to chat with several existing customers who were returning for their 2nd and 3rd vehicles.

Thanks to you both for your answers. BTW, that night blue 911 looks "sick". Stunning is the word used more frequently in my age group.

Handed back the Cayman GTS and was truly shocked at how much I disliked it. The noise is far too intrusive but that would be OK if it was a nice noise. However I really disliked the noise , like a rattle old lawnmower lol.

Was so glad to get back in the Macan.

GT2 RS very nice, wallaby, but not as sparkly as yours! Beautiful Night Blue daily driver versus probable garage queen. ;)
