Same here WingCo.. Just got a 20" set of silver Carrera S alloys with winter tyres fitted this morning.. Seemed like a good deal from Porsche Kendal. I nearly went down the same route in getting 19s but the 20s were only £80 more expensive for the set. Your 19s will feel super comfortable and will probably be slightly more effective.

All the best.

Nice looking motor, Scott. I think Agate really suits the 911 and so shiny!

I'll be tucking my GTS up for winter when it gets properly cold (over £5k for a winter wheel/tyre set of centre locks)
Thanks, VanB. :)

My cost was just over half that, including storage and the first two swap overs. 8-)

I found the same when looking to sort winters for mine. considered tyres only, then realised, i could buy a car and tax and insurance for the cost of fitting winters... That way the GTS would be unused for winter, when the biggest risk is often others on the road...

guess i'll take the do nothing approach...
I take the “you only live once” approach and choose to enjoy driving my 911 for 52 weeks of the year. :D

Hi Semerka. I did wonder, but the forecast for tomorrow morning here is only 6 degrees centigrade, so maybe I picked the right week! ;)

Hi Cowan,

They look great! Quite a bargain, as in the catalogue, the 20” Carrera S wheels/tyres are £740 more than the 19”s that I opted for.

Cheers,

Tyre manufacturers must be rubbing their hands with glee ,it’s clever marketing by them, never changed my tyres for winter in all my long years and don’t intend to now, just adjust my driving to the weather and temperatures as required .
