Thanks, Alex & Ferdie. Both very helpful.

I'm going to leave it for a little while. Being only 3.5cm in length, the damage isn't bothering me too much right now & from a distance isn't really noticeable, unless the car is sparkly clean after a wash. Part of me just wants to see if damage might be inflicted again. I still can't be sure where the car was when the damage was done. I might get winter out of the way & then investigate via some of the above recommendations.

Thanks again to all who've kindly provided constructive comments and suggestions.

Cheers,

Simon

Probably the best idea - leave it for a while.

If it was me....... I would get the correct Porsche touch up paint and give it a touch up myself - probably even less noticeable then. :D :D

Knowing my skills (or lack thereof) I'd make it look much worse!

Filling it with winter grime? Sounds like a cheap option.

If it won't degrade further, it should be fine and you could supplement it with some of those vinyl 'bullet holes' if you want to give it further patina and make it unappealing as a target. :D

I think a window sticker "my other car is a Trabant" would look classy!

I had Chips Away repair a long 60 cm scratch down the side of our speed yellow Cayman. The local Porsche recommended body shop wouldn’t even quote us because it wasn’t an insurance job, where they would respray the whole of one side of the car.

The Chips Away job cost £250 (less than the insurance excess) and was a perfect repair as far as I could see. It took him almost a day to do it on the driveway and he left me with a pot of touch up paint for the stone chips on the bonnet. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Personally it would be on my mind and I would have to have it repaired,a £90k Porshe with a damaged bumper, the 911 4S I bought has a full PPF fitted but on the rear spoiler there was a 2cm slight cut in the film ,most people would never have noticed it but I new it was there so I’ve had the PPF replaced on the spoiler but that me .
