Quoting Lewis Hamilton (who I don’t like much as he’s sooo far removed from reality)
The gasses we emit with our cars are not particularly helpful, so on one side that's a concern but on the other side, I'm a petrol head.

I hope at least in my time it's always going to be a fuel car with at least some sort of V-shaped engine with some sort of sound.
Max Verstappen, who I do have a lot of time for:
Max Verstappen agrees with Hamilton, insisting he will be one of the people vying to "buy the last barrels of oil in the world".
I noticed Nico Rosberg is quite into his EVs these days. I was actually quite shocked when I saw this:-

Looks like the Model 3 is getting the CCS system in Europe and all Superchargers being upgraded to support the connectors. Good news, and even better if Tesla allows other car manufacturers to use them, though that seems to be up in the air at the moment.

Used to have 2016 Macan Turbo PHCKCL70
Previously a 2014 Macan Turbo.
Now a 2021 Tesla Model 3 LR

Interesting stuff.

Nothing subtle or small about that plug

So M3 starting mid-next year for UK, let's see how many vehicles are delivered.

MY, now that's going to be interesting. 8-) It will be as much anticipated as the Macan was, when that new model was introduced. Although, having said that, wasn't the Macan derided by the "purists" before its launch?
GTS \o/ - sold :(

I wonder how long it will take Tesla to upgrade all the Superchargers, given that the Euro Model 3 will be unable to charge on current Superchargers. I guess they've got about a year to add the new CCS cables!

Good news about the Model S/X CCS adaptor too. I can see that taking over from the current Chademo adaptor that many people currently use for back-up charging away from the Supercharger network.

I believe Tesla has always been open to sharing their charging network on the quite reasonable condition that other manufacturers share the cost. So far no takers and Jaguar put their charging port on the iPace in the wrong place to use them!

Yeah, quite a fugly piece! I always liked the neat Type 2 connector with the subtle flap built into the rear light cluster. The iPace charging port on the other hand is not quite so elegant:-

Its always interesting to revisit this debate even though we currently have no means of realising any benefit.

It will also be interesting to see how the world changes when VW (et al) become a player. A starting figure of about €23,000 is consistently being touted.

Once real numbers start hitting the roads then we’ll more accurately be able to gauge the impact.

I don't know about that. I'm starting to think VW are full of BS regarding the scale of their EV ramp up.
