Porsche 992. Starting to lust...
Loving the positivity guys.
Look, I’m well aware beauty is well and truly in the eye of the beholder. No one ever ran up to me & said how pretty my Macan Turbo was. Not had many comments about my Cayenne Turbo neither. However the week and a half I spent in the 911 T loaner certainly garnered interest & lots of positive comments.
It’s great to see all the debate raging & this forum is a particularly good forum when it comes to expressing & sharing opinions.
Polarising looks aside, which I feel are evolutionary rather than revolutionary, but isn’t that the whole Porsche ethos? I am totally smitten. I need to see the launch cars, technical specifications & costs, and that’s really not to mention that this model is wholly impractical for me and my family. Then there’s my wife, who hates 911’s, (like many of you here) so who knows.

Am I the only one on here who thinks that the 911 is a beautiful and iconic car design? (Well, nearly all versions, from the very earliest 911 up to the 991.2)VanB wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 12:23 pmI can't imagine that anyone on here who owns a 911 actually bought it for its looks!Col Lamb wrote: ↑Sat Nov 24, 2018 10:20 am Yawn, a 911 is great to drive but come on folks it is dull to look at and that has been the case for donkeys years. I for one cannot tell the difference between a 911 from 2000 and one now and am I bothered, no, hence I for one do not have nor will have the 911 itch.
I honestly prefer the looks of the 911 to most Ferraris, Maseratis, Lamborghinis and Astons etc, including a white 68-plate Aston that I pulled up behind at my local Shell garage yesterday evening. (It did sound pretty good though)

No you’re not alone as I would wholeheartedly agree with you that it is a fine looking machine. My point was simply that we probably all bought ours for the unique blend of sportiness, handling and practicality that a 911 offers. The fact that it is also very good looking is a bonus

I always liked the classic look of a 911, but never quite got how special it is untill now, after driving it over a few thousand miles. So much more fun driving rather than washing it.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Sun Nov 25, 2018 8:38 amAm I the only one on here who thinks that the 911 is a beautiful and iconic car design? Me too. Everything from the sublime early 70s iconic 911 right through to the current 991. I like some of the Italian exotica and Astons too, but the 911 is just so much more subtle as an everyday sportscar.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Sun Nov 25, 2018 8:38 am

Exactly, Rab. My T looks quite grubby at the mo, having covered quite a few hundred wintry miles since its last wash. Looks quite good, I think - used & enjoyedRab J wrote: ↑Sun Nov 25, 2018 2:05 pmI always liked the classic look of a 911, but never quite got how special it is untill now, after driving it over a few thousand miles.
