Suzuki Jimny stability control 'phantom skid' problem uncovered

Thanks for this - we did get a strange buzzer/alarm going off on a tight approach to a roundabout (when my wife was driving). I wonder if it was linked to this? :?

We will leave our Jimny order as it is for now, and continue to track the arrival of the new engine for the Duster.

I was checking out the new Cupra Ateca today Arif and they'd just got this new white Jimmy "top of the range" demo in adjacent dealership. Looks interesting but driving??

Sales guy concurred with what you said about only 600 to come to UK in next 6 months + thought they already had 4000 deposits or interests recorded - so hopefully production gets beefed up or it'll be a long wait for one!

^^

Surely no coincidence that they don't actually do it in red! I am considering white or silver SZ4, and possibly get a local bodyshop to do the roof in black.

Wouldn't paint the roof black, will be much easier and cheaper to wrap it black. Also easily reversed if you change your mind or a second owner wants it back to original colour.

Thanks MCDK, she's got a Golf R estate at the moment - yes fast Golf's are fantastic. Her last three cars have been Golf R estate, BMW i3, and Golf R hatch. Thought she might like a change but alas will have to look elsewhere.

The popularity of the Jimmy shows there's still a lot of sentiment for a proper small 4X4. I had a three door RAV4 for a while which was a super little car. Much missed.

Yes hard to get better than a Golf in that size of car and my wife has had Golfs for a few years now, maybe looking a change next time but not sure what.

If your wife is wanting a 4x4 style Arif what about a Jag E Pace, nice and compact and look pretty good. Some decent lease deals appear on them occasionally.
