That's a bit like saying wouldn't it be fantastic if you could suddenly achieve 160 mpg out of a 3.0L Turbo engine. I think you are in for a very long wait based on that criteria!
New Taycan
It has taken since the mid eighties to get the EV battery pack cells to their present state of development.
Moores Law does not apply to cells.

No, it doesn't but that doesn't mean that there aren't some exciting areas of research that could and probably will lead to significant steps forward. I suspect battery development will likely be a step-change progression.

According to that article it's now going on sale in 2020, not this year? At one point it was supposed to be released in 2018Semerka wrote: ↑Tue Feb 12, 2019 1:05 pm Today's news at Evo: Porsche Taycan new details revealed:

An extract about SUV's:
"The saloon won’t be the only fully electric offering from Porsche, an SUV to rival Audi’s E-tron, Mercedes’ EQC, Tesla’s Model X and Jaguar’s iPace will be launched in 2022 and further electric performance cars will follow soon after. The SUV has already been teased by the Mission E Cross Turismo Concept – a jacked-up, tough-looking version of the Taycan."

I looked at getting a pod point (domestic) in my garage (shared garage for my apartment building).
Podpoint have 3 options, 3.6kW, 7kW and 22kW.
I'd probably go for the middle one, but the prices are respectively:
£779 / £800 / £1499 (full price)
£279 / 300 / 999 (with OLEV grant).
I'd also have to pay about £1000 to my building management company as it's a bit complicated to get things done in a shared env.
This was in light of getting a Kona as that would suit my needs for an EV. I still have another parking spot for my Macan for longer and road-trips.
I'm not completely happy with the T&Cs with all this though, so decided against it.

Yea, that's my thoughts too. I could have the 22 but my use case for the EV would only need it half charged every 2 or 3 days.
