Don't try to frighten us ICE guys with your sorcerer's ways. Your sad devotion to that EV religion has not helped you conjure up the necessary 4X battery density, or given you clairvoyance enough to predict when it will happen!

These were the same game-changers for me moving to a powerful EV:-

What impresses you the most about the Taycan?

WR: How little I actually miss the engine noise. I would never have expected that the lack of any sound from the drive system could mean no loss of performance. In fact I really like the quietness of the Taycan; it’s something of an experience in itself.

In comparison with a conventional driving experience, how is the Taycan most different?

WR: Simply in the performance. Even in my fastest rally cars, I have never experienced performance like it – and the immediate response, this instant reaction that makes me smile every time.

WR opening statement: “I don’t like electric cars”

.... bla bla bla... horizontal tear drops...

WR closing statement: “Unglaublich!”

@Pivot, imagine what he would have said if it had 4x the battery energy density?

While at the OPC the other day. One of the staff was saying that worldwide, the dealers have taken deposits for nearly 100,000 of these new cars, ( I can't confirm this). That's an awful lot of money washing around the dealers. When there is not even a date for production as yet. And only the images floating around the media, are probably only futureistic prototypes.

If that's true, then the waiting list will be in multiple years. Also would explain why they suddenly decided to double production from 20k to 40k units per year.

...and I don’t think they’re even taking deposits in the U.K. yet...?
