Most car parking spaces are ridiculously small.

The only place I’ve been to whereby the spaces are sized for our cars and set at 45 degrees to get in/ out easier is Target.

Anyone that’s been to the US will see that they have sized their spaces appropriate to the majority of vehicles they have.

Too many times I’ve returned back to my cars and some careless muppet has scraped, scratched or left a nice “ding” from opening the door onto mine.

Some of the comments made on the DM feed say they would wilfully damage the Porsche if they saw it left across 2 spaces. Bar-stewards.

I have to say that when they built a new Waitrose in Cobham in Surrey they marked out the car park spaces to accommodate the proliferation of "Chelsea Tractors" around here. Doesn't stop some of the drivers still parking over the white lines though!!

Our local Waitrose carpark is pretty SUV friendly. Some of the others are a joke and they don't get my custom on that basis alone.

All those muppets whinging on the DM are the sort of people who can't park in the centre of a space anyway and wouldn't think twice about slamming their doors into someone else's car. If this sort of thing didn't happen then people who cared about their cars wouldn't have to worry about parking next to them.

Surprisingly, when I glanced at the DM comments (usually a source of humour on its own), they were pretty supportive of the driver! Unbelievable!

I must admit, I didn't dare read the comments and made some assumptions as to the reader mentality!

Notice they are happy to berate the Porsche driver but not the parents who use up spaces for the purpose of collecting their children from school thus inconveniencing the ‘actual’shoppers!!!!

“It happened at about 3pm, during the school run, which meant the car park was busy as it is often used by parents of children who go to nearby Wolfreton School.”

Double standards ;)
