As my current commute is 20 miles each way I'm thinking of chopping the SLK in for a new Mustang V8 as I fancy a muscle car for a change. While I've driven a few of these in the States on holiday I'm wondering if it makes sense as a longer term proposition and thought I'd ask if anyone on here has any experiences you'd like to share.

Go for it.

Thats a lot of car configured for the £46k that I have just done and I would expect a very healthy discount.

Must admit I do like the look of them and they certainly sound superb.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

If it were me and I had a hankering to set fire to my cash on a US muscle car, I would look at a Corvette. Good examples for as much as the Mustang.

Why not just commute in your Macan?

I had one in 2016 - exactly that - V8 GT. Had a manual. Gearbox was a little ropey but, as long as you are not expecting a handling weapon, there was nothing wrong with it. Lots of character and reasonably comfortable.

You know the more I think about that the more it makes sense but I still fancy a Mustang as well.

I think I'd get an Auto as it'll be more of a Cruiser than an out and out sports car, we've got the Cayman for that. Thanks for your insight.
