Vehicles in your garage!
Spa is a special place. I have had the pleasure of walking, running and driving round the track, spectating from a banking, marshalling from a point near La Source, being team manager in a 25 hour race in which my son raced and won, plus officiating in Race Control.
So when is this ‘old enough to know better’ supposed to kick in ?

Went and camped back in the '90s to a 24hr m/c race. Next morning the circuit was open and we rode around 'race stylee'. Exiting Pouhon, I was faced with a LR Defender coming the other way - it hadn't registered that the circuit was open in both directions!
Cleared the hangover pretty sharpish!

100% agree with the Ferrari! Gorgeous ‘lottery win’ car.

Had a good look around the 911 Speedster last week but would concede that if I were going to spend 200k+ on a car it would have to have a prancing horse on the bonnet.

I have been an occasional poster on here, talking about my disappointing 2017 Macan SD and my subsequent switch to a new 2018 Macan S.
My wife and I also have a rather nice white Boxster. And then, this weekend, we signed up for a new addition to the stable....
I have been talking to OPC Solihull for the last week or so about buying a very nice 2018 991 that they have in stock but eventually told them I had decided to wait for the base model 992 to be announced and to go for a brand new car at that time. (I want the base model for budget reasons and because I don't need the ultimate in power.)
Subsequently, I had a call on Saturday morning from the sales lady to say they just been allocated 2 new base model 992 cars with a September 2019 build slot, one coupe and one cab. On the assumption that the base model will be about £10k cheaper than the 'S', I placed a deposit on the coupe and, later that afternoon drew up the spec using the S configurator. The Porsche code is PLXVQLJ1.
In brief, that is:
White
Carrera S Wheels
Slate Grey/Crayon interior (I like a light interior)
Electric glass sunroof (SE highly recommended)
Privacy glass (to hide stuff on the back seat due to small luggage compartment)
Electric folding mirrors (I live in the country, narrow roads)
PDK
Power Steering Plus (for the missus when parking)
Auto dimming mirrors/ rain sensor
Park Assist with surround view (I LOVE surround view)
Porsche Entry and Drive (I overcame my security concerns)
Crayon Seat belts (to finish off the interior nicely)
Light Design Pack
Heated Steering Wheel
Any thoughts on this?
I think we may sell the Boxster when the 992 arrives. Or maybe not...

Congrats on new order
My S is being built same month, I hadn’t realised non S was out.
I’m probably the wrong person to ask about spec , I always get carried away!

Good decision! You will love it. Have you had an extended test drive? I chose 18 way seats, purely for comfort reasons and because I have them in the Macan and love them.derekm wrote: ↑Sun Jul 07, 2019 6:26 pm I have been an occasional poster on here, talking about my disappointing 2017 Macan SD and my subsequent switch to a new 2018 Macan S.

Am guessing that the above spec on a new 992, albeit the base car, will be quite a lot more than the 2018 991 that you were looking at.
I saw a white 992 out on the road (M25) the other weekend. I passed it and it was following me for a while before he turned off. Looked good - wide and low, great presence on the road.
If I had a white 911, I don’t think that I could resist putting Martini stripes on it.
Fully agree with heated wheel & auto-dimming mirrors/rain sensor. I find my 4-way Sport Seats Plus just great too, although the 992 seat looks a bit different to the 991 seats.
The Crayon seat belts will need care. I have Racing Yellow seat belts and after 18,600 miles, if you look closely, they are no longer pristine.

Had a decent run in an S. Enough to know I will love it. On a 911 forum, one guy pointed out that, due to better residuals, monthly PCP payments on an 'S' might not be much more than the base model. I need to check that more thoroughly because my strict (cash) budget was the reason I didn't go for the 18 way seats. I have them on the Macan and LOVE them.
