I wouldn't be keen on getting a first release in any case. Porsche's first foray into the BEV market is bound to have some gremlins which will likely be sorted with the release of the .2 version and that's when I'll look seriously at it, by which time the GTS will likely be 5 years old and I will be thinking about changing it (if I don't by a 992 GTS in the meantime)!

Nice quandary to be in though. 992 GTS or Taycan. 👍

smithy37 wrote: Fri Sep 13, 2019 2:43 pm Latest development is I have to pay the VAT up front along with the deposit for the finance arrangement and I can't claim this VAT back, which I find ludicrous being a VAT registered company.

This would stretch my business cash flow too far. It's a shame as everything looked promising. Serves me right for getting a little excited. Hey-ho.
Litchfield re-map for the GTS it is then.
How bizarre?? Was that lease or lease purchase? It used to be that the VAT was fully reclaimable but then liable on disposal (and maybe the number of people who “forgot” this bit led HMRC to change the rules.)
Would a contract hire work....(off balance sheet, although not sure if the BIK still works at 0%)

I'm at the Rudskogen race track in Norway this weekend for the Porsche Carrera Cup Scandinavia event. It is also being hosted by Porsche Norway with various things to excite the public, including simulators, off-road rides, static displays and .... a Taycan. The queue to see the Taycan has been over 150 people long all day, so it's obviously attracting attention. I would take a photo but I can't get in !!
So when is this ‘old enough to know better’ supposed to kick in ?

Cayenne GTS - Mar 2022
Cayenne S - Aug 2019 to Mar 2022
Macan Turbo - Feb 2018 to Aug 2019
Cayenne S - Apr 2015 to Feb 2018
Cayenne - Jul 2013 - Apr 2015
BMW R1250GS - since Dec 2021

So now it's £150k and delivery in the middle of 2020? So this more realistic £75k base model might be available by around 2022 and probably with a 2 year waiting list as demand should be ten fold compared to a £150k car?

But when did a waiting list deter Porsche - or Tesla?

I specced up a "Turbo" on the confuserator and it came to £126k which is substantially more than I would be willing to pay for one.
