Exactly! And in the early days of the Macan, the wait time was way more than 8 months! More like 18+ months in some cases, as I recall, with some OPCs refusing to accept orders for certain models. Is anyone really surprised about an 8 month lead time on a Taycan...?

I guess it’s about realism versus first adopters. And price-wise first adopters do seem willing to throw money at the perceived prestige or hipster-value.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Sun Sep 15, 2019 11:51 amExactly! It just seems a long time for what was originally supposed to be a 2018/19 car. At one point I was actually debating whether or not to hold off on a Model 3 order to see how the Taycan would compare, but that was when they were talking about a £70-80k version being available in 2019. Now the game has changed completely, while the Model 3 Performance dropped from an estimated £65k to £50k and is now available within a couple of months of order. I always expected the Taycan to be more expensive, but not £150k and no chance of seeing one until the middle of 2020. Might as well not exist at this point.
I finally managed to get into the special area where the Taycan was being displayed and I have to say that I was underwhelmed, certainly no Wow factor for me.
However, I was told that over 800 people in Norway have already put deposits down, which is not bad for a country with only 4 million people.

So when is this ‘old enough to know better’ supposed to kick in ?

Just had a call from Tewkesbury OPC. They reminded me that I lodged a letter of intent on a Mission E/Taycan some time ago!
They said that current estimated deliveries are around March next year.
They also said that the next one down from Turbo and Turbo S, the 4S, is likely to be launched around Oct/Nov with a price around the £100k mark.
I said that I'm still very happy with my Carrera T for now & that if I went for the Taycan, it would likely be a model below the 4S...

...although my guess is that the Taycan 4S will be closer to £90k than £100k, to maintain parity with Panamera pricing. The Taycan Turbo and Turbo S are both priced slightly below their Panamera equivalents.
