Interesting in that for most over manufacturers the EV is dearer than the ICE equivalent.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Tue Sep 17, 2019 12:32 pm...although my guess is that the Taycan 4S will be closer to £90k than £100k, to maintain parity with Panamera pricing. The Taycan Turbo and Turbo S are both priced slightly below their Panamera equivalents.
The Panamera is for Porsche a niche product and hence I am not surprised that initial Taycan demand may not be meeting expectations.
The Autocar grand EV test this week comparing Tesla X, Etron, Merc EQC and Jag Ipace ( https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/features/electric-suv-megatest-mercedes-eqc-vs-luxury-rivals ) shows the current UK charger network issues only Tesla's own seem to be exempt. Fortunately, most OPC's are near UK motorways but a Taycan owner travelling away from UK population centres could well have issues especially as the practical range appears to be nearer 200 miles than 300. that is my conclusion from playing with the range illustration app on the Taycan webpage.
Personally I would be more attracted to the Sport Turismo but I am put off both Taycan and Panamera by their width. Having owned a Macan for 4 months that confirms the Macan is right on the maximum width of car I would own for UK use. I note the Audi Etron is despite being quite long actually narrower than Q5 and current Macan. I hope this is reflected in EV Macan.
