My car was recently in for some minor work (not OPC), related to the back end of the car. I collected at close of business and by the time I had sorted myself out, they'd shut, but I noticed that my dash cam, mounted up by the rear view mirror, was pointing skywards and the power lead was out and dangling from the head lining.

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced similar and would question is it to do with Data Protection, needing permission to film or other odd law that has recently been introduced?

Or is it more likely that my car has been used for the daily, high speed sarnie run and they don't want me to know about it? :?

Mine's always been unplugged by the garage, but I'd be annoyed if they physically moved it! I usually unplug it myself now on arrival.

I will certainly do that in future as I can't seem to get it back to exactly where it has been for the last 2 years.

If you go on youtube and search Mercedes Bristol dashcam (or something similar) you’ll see 2 technicians ragging a customer’s car around, buying sandwiches, going to the cashpoint etc.
Not saying this happens all the time......😉

I think that answers my query quite nicely Paul!

Fair play to the customer, for turning down the £1,500 plus NDA and then posting this up.

Hope the driver had his collar felt in some way?

It’s policy to disconnect cams at Bristol OPC workshop.
