... I would agree (much more than sufficient for my needs)
............. but there is also the consideration that a key part of 'good' product design (in this day and age) is to specify a product to be just sufficient for the job not sure what Porsche use but say 60k miles and 3 years for 95% reliability (i.e. only 1 routine services needed), some of us here would be pleased if they reached that! After that you are into ~£1k/yr to extend to 14 yrs or 125k miles, so they are hedging their bets after that time.

After that a further consideration is, just like cornering forces are the square of the speed, likewise power increase is greater than a linear effect on wear (other may know more precisely), the only mitigator on this life reduction is not using the power  Of course all this is all a personal choice but I would certainly not want to be unknowingly the second owner :?

Most insurers limit the car to a performance percentage increase, which I think is around the 20% mark. With this being more than a 50% hike I suspect you would need to seek out a specialist insurer rather than one of the mainstream lot.
I still think that might be a typo on the Litchfield site, quoting the same boosted power for the 992 Carrera as the S. The increase on the S is around 29%. The increase in bhp on my T was about 31% and Manning UK were happy to still cover me for only a modest increase in premium. :)

I think its a typo too, but then again you have had a big increase on the T compared to my GTS (percentage wise), so the cars must be slightly de-tuned in stock guise.

I am at a crossroads with my upgrade. Do I go full Litchfield exhaust and remap or just back box and re-map. Cost is an extra £3k for the full system and don't know if that is money well spent. What are your thoughts Simon?

Interesting proposition from Litchfield but as Tracky says I'm not sure I'll be messing with my 992 any time soon. The 992 C2S is a seriously quick car and pretty much on a par with the GT3 in terms of 0-60 times - obviously the handling and driving experience of the two are different. As I like to change my cars often I'd always be worried about resale and for me I'd always go for an upgrade on the stock range. It'll be interesting to see what they do with the 992 GTS/Turbo models in terms of output.

Hi Arif. I agree that spending money at Litchfield has its risks, and is only worth doing if the car is a keeper. I’ve had my T for over 19 months now and done over 23k miles in it. Planning on keeping it a lot longer. I saw a Miami Blue T for sale recently that has had the full Litchfield treatment. It would be interesting to know what that sells for. Sounds like you’re enjoying your 992. :) Do you still have the GT3?

Hi Smithy. Yes, Iain’s view is that Porsche design a car/engine first (say along the lines of the GTS) and then de-tune to get back down to the S and base Carrera.

I just got carried away and went the whole hog! Suspension and spacers first. Then remap, Remus silencer, new manifolds and sports CATs. Maybe a bit impulsive, but hey, we only live once! ;)

I like the Autocar quote:

“If you have a Carrera T and want more power and sharper handling, take it to Litchfield. If you want one of the most rewarding & engaging sub-£100k sports cars on sale today, buy a Carrera T and send it to Litchfield. It’s that good.”

Agree Simon - Litchfield no doubt do a great job on the mods. I don't think it matters if you are going to keep the car. Yes still keeping the GT3, just wondering how long to keep both cars. GT3 great weekend car - and 992 great daily driver.

One day, though. In the meantime, I’ll be enjoying my ‘junior GT3’. ;)
