Surely a tuning box doesn’t safely change all parameters just ups the boost.

A full remap is much safer

As far as I know a tuning box effectively bypasses your own ECU and uses itself as a replacement. The benefit being that it is easily removed and unlikely to ever be a warranty issue. Anyway thought I’d let you know and, of course, the choice is yours as far as what you have done to your own car is concerned 😁

Ha ha

I’ve not done it and nor will I but used to do it a lot on the past

Pretty sure the tuning boxes still leave a ‘tag’ on the ecu that things have been fettled. Eg if the boost as run higher than standard, that will get logged anyway, whether you take box off or not

Thanks Van.
The cost of a Remap at Lichfield is now £700. It can now be mapped directly from the OBD port rather than having to remove the ECU to unlock it first.
As I’m getting the exhaust changed I want a rolling road bespoke re-map.
Three weeks. 😬
