Unless proper preparation of the paint is carried out first it's a worthless task and in applying it they will induce marks. Better to ask them not to apply It to be honest as its main purpose is a commission generator for the salesman and the dealer from the kit supplier.
I understand what your saying but as a tight Ballymena man something for nothing always have its attractions. I might get more detail on exactly what it is when I'm up leaving in the V5 next week. I'll maybe give the PPF guy a ring as he now works out of a detailers in Lisburn to see what their opinion is but I can nearly imagine what whey will say even before I ask. Then again I'm not sure I'm up for 2or 3k for film and detailing again right now.

Understand the Ballymena tightness lol although we aren’t that much more generous up this part of rye country. Is that Andrew for the PPF, he did my Macan as well. Didn’t realise he was based somewhere now as he came to my garage to do the same work.

You are right when you assume a detailer will tell you to run a mile away from letting a dealer touch your car. Most detailers will want the car straight form the dealer and certainly before they even wash it. That is how my M135i went to the detailer and it wasn’t all that expensive to be honest.

Yes it was Andrew that did mine. He sorted a little ripple on the bottom of the mirror not that long ago and he was telling me that he's now based at the Lisburn place. He told me the name but I cant remember it. He does a great job and it saved the 911 from at least a couple of chips, probably more given that I was inclined to hammer it on.

Well its arrived, actually picked it up last Friday. Weather been terrible, roads a mess around here so as you can see its been used. Sorry, I wasn't sure if dirty photos were allowed
I've only got a couple of hundred miles on it so far but initial impressions are off the scale impressed. Floating around silently one minute and a flying machine next with an imperceptible take up of the ICE. A lot of my journeys are short so I'm managing to use only the electric motor most of the time.

BTW, when I was picking up the car on Friday a guy was also picking up my old 911. Never even got the chance to advertise it they told me. The guy walked in between Christmas and new year wanting to look at 911s. Didn't lake anything they had in the showroom, so they reluctantly took him round the back where my car was sitting waiting cleaning and bought it there and then.

As you can see I am determined to use this one a lot more, not a garage queen this time. The callipers are fairly bright but as I am a little colour blind I don't mind. :D
I did consider selling privately but to be honest I did my homework and the deal I got was very good so I just went for it. I had other English offers for the 911 and knew what I could buy the Cayenne for so went in knowing what I wanted and quite prepared to walk if they didn't come up with a good offer.
