Excellent. So you’re getting a 4.0 GTS 718? Very nice. And at list price hopefully.

Yes, all above board. We went in to put together our initial spec yesterday. We decided we didn't want an early car for several reasons and actually might even wait until early next year until some of those reasons are more clearly understood.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 8:38 amExcellent. We feel very lucky to be getting one as they are apparently in high demand.

Unlike the GT4 which are "limited supply" the 4.0 GTS is a normal model and even with high demand with patience you'll get one. The wisdom of letting he early adopters iron out some of then first year bugs is a good idea. IMHO

But it’s not a new car though as all the parts are known that’s all
Agree normally. Never stopped me getting new ones of everything at launch. Only problems I’ve had are on the 992!

Care to share your initial ideas on spec?

Our patience is purely borne out of having just taken delivery of a base 718 Boxster and the "shiny new thing" syndrome hasn't worn off yet. I'm looking forwards to having some fun it that once the warmer weather gets here.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Sat Jan 18, 2020 5:13 pmExciting! Current specs for the GTS are:
Cayman - http://www.porsche-code.com/PL25V1H7
Boxster - http://www.porsche-code.com/PLA49N61
No idea which one we'll go for and I suspect we'll be wasting many hours on the configurator in the next few months. Having looked at the cost I did think about trading up to a 911 but it's never been an itch I've wanted to scratch so would probably be wasted on me. We also thought about a GT4 or Spyder but again would probably be wasted on us so we'll stick with the GTS and be happy with that.

Ah, yes. I think the Cayman 4.0 is the one I’d go for.
Well, the GTS 4.0 is 90% of a GT4/Spyder, and very few of us would fully utilise the pretty small enhancements from a 4.0 GTS to the ‘superior’ model. And the GTS has the same engine, just very slightly detuned.
