For those interested in “the oily bits” this is an worthwhile watch, showing the effects of “bad fuel” on engines.
Admittedly an extreme example of an engine run at very high stresses but nonetheless valid.

Funny I watched this and thought that the wear was down to thrashing the engine rather than bad fuel so I don't think it is at all clear that it's a fieldworker related thing.

Yes mentions detonation but he was running an engine at 1000 hp + which suggests that it is being forced and induction pressure is likely to be very high which I suspect can be a contributory factor to detonation. Probably the bigger issue is poor quality oil and oil distribution.
I have no issue in accepting the preference for quality fuel and I would normally put V-Power in my 911. I still don’t think this video gives a compelling reason to use a premium fuel.
