I am still debating what to do, not sure on the ceramic, a famous NI detailer put me off it - stating if you are OCD (which i am) he would recommend a different process and I have a fair few products in my collection (some just purchased!)

I have another full day booked in specialist place for detailing (family friend - Rolls Royce & Bentley fanatic), so will post the results :)

No snow in BT4 - lol and meant to be very dry Wednesday and Thursday.

Excitement is building!

Would be interested in knowing what the negatives of ceramic coatings are and of course there are now a huge range from numerous manufacturers. I'm mega OCD about car condition and am so far delighted with the finish on the BMW.
I detail myself.

1. Foam Wash
2. Two bucket wash
3. Ferrous Dueller iron fall out
4. Autoglym HD Wax on body
5. Gtechnique Wheel Armour
6. Gtechnique Glass Coat

Couple of days of work and not driving the car.

Yes Arif I do plenty of washing and detailing too but the finish and longevity a ceramic gives cannot be matched by a diy wax product.

And only 2 buckets, 4 buckets is where it's at lol. You can't mix the wash bucket for the wheels with the body wash bucket and separate rinse bucket for both.

Cheers all,

Going down the Wax route, coupled with C5, etc, etc So very similar to Arif routine......

It will be detailed to death, as is the Macan - but it’s the best de-stresser around.

Will post a few more pics after Thursday

Have a cherished plate going on it to match the Macan from my old S3.

Yes agreed, ceramic of course will be better. I wasn't entirely clear about the 2 bucket technique - should never use the same buckets for the wheels!
