Hi All

I am a few months into being a Macan owner I do love it!
I wanted to post as I had my first experience of using OPC Reading.
The reason for the visit was to get car connect activated which they did for £117 however the app has been crashing ever since so a bit of a waste of money :S I should have done a bit more research before getting that set up.

I wanted to share some details on the healthcare report.
Some of the issues flagged
PDK Oil Change for £591.00 Due to no history. parts= PDK oil, filter, seals, washers, sump plugs

I was concerned as I checked the last service receipt completed at Porsche service centre Silverstone by the previous owner and It has had its PDK oil service completed @ 37520 miles.

Washers and Wipers £177.60
Wiper Blades Front and Rear Need Replacing as smearing screen parts= front and rear wiper blades

I had replaced the front wipers with brand new ones a few weeks ago so was shocked to see them on the report but also the suggested cost.

Front Brake Disc Thickness £1,218.00
0.2mm before max wear recommend replacement of front discs, pads and fitting kits.

The car passed its MOT about a month ago with no flags on the brakes which they would normally highligh if the brakes are worn... however I will get them checked if they need replacing.

There is a lot more on the report..

I wanted to know if this is a typical service from Porsche?

I've had my 2014 (MY2015) Macan Turbo serviced at Guildford OPC recently. Here are two examples of what they did & pricing :

PDK oil : According to my service book, this should be done every 40,000 miles or 6 years whichever comes first. In my case the car had only done 30,000 miles but was 6 years old, so I got it done. Cost was £390 labour+parts, inc. VAT.

Front wiper blades : These were 18 months old but were starting to smear. I would normally do it myself, but I got lazy and asked them to do it. Cost (front 2 only) : £76 all-in, inc. VAT.

I also found Guilford OPC to be very good to deal with.

My car will probably need new pads and disks all-round. As it is now over 6 years old I'm going to get this done at an independent Porsche specialist, quoting £1430 inc VAT to replace front & back discs+pads.
Current car : Macan GTS Gen 2

That PDK service price sounds very reasonable.

It sounds like we live in the same neck of the woods. Which Porsche Specialist are you using for the brakes? Is it GT One in Chertsey?

I'm north of Guilford, nearer to Reading. I'll probably be using RSJ Sports cars in Slough (https://www.rsjsportscars.co.uk).They quote some fixed prices for Porsche servicing. (They actually quote £185 + VAT for PDK oil change).
Only thing - no courtesy cars, but they are very near Slough railway station.

I'm going there for the first time on Monday (21/9) to get a job done on my exhaust system to resolve vibration & screeching. If they seem OK, I'll report back.

Cool, thanks :) I could make RSJ work in the future when our office reopens because we're on the Cardiiff <--> Paddington train line. However GT One is much closer to home!

Good or bad, let us know how it goes :)

OPC Guildford and Reading are part of the same group (Porsche Retail).

If you want to stay franchised but probably at a better cost, try Brooklands which is an OPC but only for service and used sales. I get my Macan serviced there and find them better / more interested / more helpful than Guildford although I have no particular issues with Guildford.

Jesus! £76 for wiper blades! There's lazy and then there's lighting cigars with £20 notes!

£15 delivered by Amazon next day, OEM Bosch blades and no more than 90 seconds to fit them!

£76 is a bargain compared to the £177.60 from Reading

I always recommend phoning round I wouldn’t use Reading as never had great service from them and they are very expensive even though I live 5 minutes from them. I always used Porsche Swindon my pdk oil change was £408.00.

I stopped using Reading for anything other than FOC warranty etc due to their rip off (even for Porsche) prices. Can also recommend Brooklands as an alternative.
