Those who think that the SD engine is great I urge you to test drive an X3 with the 35D engine, then come back and report on what you then think.
What you are saying is you can get a faster car therefore SD must be bad - by which token why have anything other than the turbo version.
Surely it should be an X4 with 35D engine - but that'll probably have run flats - personally I am quite happy with performance of X3 3.0D - lots of things went into decision why not spend a little bit more and get 3.5D
