As you say, a good result. But rather odd in places. Where are they buying at that price? And how is it getting to 60 in 5.8 seconds (I thought it was 6.3). And why does a supposedly reputable review say the Macan is lots cheaper when they have identified a big difference in equipment? If they compared like with like on the equipment, the price would be similar (or a lot closer). I am sure the Macan is still the best car, but I think that review is poor in the detail.

It seems that they tested an optioned up Macan (e.g. with air) but didn't consider the optioned up price. Maserati bosses won't be pleased.

Agreed, there could have been more attention to detail by the writer (e.g. incorrect 0-62 time etc).
To be fair though, there are lots of mentions of the big differences in standard equipment between the two.
"Only stingy standard equipment and comparatively tight rear leg room let it down."
"Against Stingy standard equipment; less space in the back; smaller boot."
"The Levante adds xenon lights, leather seats, sat-nav, keyless entry, air suspension and adjustable lumbar support to that kit list, all of which are pricey extras on the Macan."
"Mind you, our test Macan was equipped with (£1788) optional air suspension, which no doubt helped its cause."

It's not a 0 to 62 time it's a 0 to 60 time.

A SC equipped SD does 0 to 62 in 6.1 secs so it's reasonable to assume a sub 6.0 time for 0 to 60.

Agree low quality review.

Has the new alfa suv competitor been spotted in the uk yet?

If i recall correctly its a few mm larger than the macan, maybe it would have been cleverer to have made it a wee bit smaller thus a baby macan with a lighter price so should any one downsize ......

Yes i had an alfasud in my earlier life, hence more than casual interest.

All the websites & marketing literature seem to quote 0-62 times nowadays, being equivalent to 0-100 kph.
The Maserati website quotes the Levante at 6.9 seconds for 0-62mph.
The Porsche website quotes the SD Macan at 6.3 seconds for 0-62mph.
