It was an actual photo taken in 2014 on a family holiday to the Montpellier area. It's taken from the observation point on the north side of the bridge. There's a great visitor centre there with the full story of how they built it. You do have to pay to cross, from memory it was around €8 each way back then. Here's one of us driving over it.
