Just in case you thought that Jeremy Clarkson had any credibility as a reviewer of cars...

Although it did prompt me to re-watch the GTC4 Lusso road test by Chris Harris!

Weird, not to even come back to you. Ah well. It would only have made you Jeeves for a couple of hours rather than a legs up for the day...

I heard Clarkson once described as a professional antagonist and I think that sums him up perfectly. Also Carmine looks surprisingly good in the metal but I still think it's a piss take to charge extra for it.

I agree with both of these points.
But Porsche are consumate experts in extracting money from their customers!
Some would say that we are mad to spend £50k to £110k or more for a car in the first place.
Many would think I was crazy to pay what I did for red paint!
Others would say that £2,700 to £4,500 for a GTS interior is madness.
And I have always felt that the base models in each range provide much better value for money than the more expensive variants, be that Macan, 718, Cayenne or 911.

Ah WingCo I think I commented on another thread that we truly are privileged to be in a position to buy the cars we do and specify the options we want. In truth it is not uncommon for members to drop up to £15k on options which would buy the average family a perfectly good car.
Yes Porsche are very good at emptying our pockets but we are willing participants otherwise you wouldn’t have spent extra on red paint and I wouldn’t be contemplating a ludicrously expensive interior

Oops - am still catching up with recent forum posts.
Indeed you are right and I dropped about £13k of options on my Panamera 4, which could not be justified in any sane way. Plus, I'm sure I'll feel the pain when I come to trade in, possibly for a Mission E...
But we love our cars and at least we are helping to provide employment for all those who work at the Porsche Centres that we support!

If it makes you feel any better I did just over £10k of options on a Mini . But I am enjoying it all. And the wife is too. All at a cost of course but we don’t work hard just for fun. EnjoyWing Commander wrote: ↑Mon Nov 06, 2017 6:58 pm Oops - am still catching up with recent forum posts.
