+1. But if you rise above personal feelings towards someone you've never met and take his ramblings with a huge pinch of salt he can be quite amusing. And he did heap praise on the engines, the cockpit and the way it drives, which is the Porsche DNA bit. Style and colour will always be down to personal opinion, a bit like your views on Clarkson I suppose.

Agreed, Nick. I'm not sure that he's ever been a 'proper' serious motoring journalist, but he does seem to amuse some folks, hence his great success and wealth from Top Gear.

Not my cup of tea, but it takes all sorts...

I think he's hilarious - controversial because it suits.

No car reviewer will ever get everything right, will they? Even us lot on here, we all have different opinions on colour, must-have options, even on fuel or power options. Isn't that what makes life's rich tapestry so good?

If you take away all the "stupid bits" it is a very good review. 👍

As you sit there pressing buttons, you feel just like Star Trek’s Mr Sulu
You open the Panamera, you step inside and immediately you are consumed by a desperate need to buy one
I won’t beat about the bush. It was sublime. There are three engines on offer: at one end is a diesel that will give you an astonishing range of 800 miles between fill-ups but will cost you £10,000 a minute to park because various councils have changed their minds and decided diesel is the work of the devil. At the other is a bloody great V8 turbo that you can park for sixpence because somehow that’s OK these days.
Naturally there is a great deal of power, all of which is fed to all four wheels by an ingenious arsenal of algorithms that makes sure no matter what you do, the car always feels planted and secure. It also feels sprightly, because much of it is now made from aluminium.
Make no mistake: this is a wonderful car to drive. And it doesn’t feel even remotely like a large five-door hatchback with a boot big enough for a trip to the garden centre, folding rear seats and (just) enough room in the back for two adults. It even rides properly, so everyone is always comfortable.

Clarkson knows it is a great car but can't fully admit it since he hates Porsche (or whatever). He therefore makes stupid comments about the colour, a colour we all know to be one of the best ;) :D

It is just a similar scenario to the SD haters on here. They too know the SD is a great machine but instead of just admitting it they also make some equally stupid comments ;) :D

Also, like some on here :) Clarkson knows how to wind people up, cause controversy and provoke reaction. :)

Carmine Red - one of the best colours indeed, Scotmac! Been left out in the sun indeed!!

Ha ha! The lady in question was very embarrassed that she mistook my Panamera for a Ferrari! Must be something about the eye catching colour and the stylish, exotic lines! ;) Anyhow, after her apology for bothering me, I have heard no more from her.
