Not a big Merc fan myself but clearly an impressive achievement.

Watch out Porsche the AMG E63 S is here.
VG Petrol S http://www.porsche-code.com/PHIVCQU7 And a GT3 RS... by Lego! Not crash-tested!
I posted a few comments and pics on the E63 S Estate I had a couple of weeks ago for a weekend. Best fast estate definitely - obviously very quick but actually reasonably fun and engaging to drive, unlike the RS6 which still suffers from Audi's lame steering and general disconnection to the road. Interior also very good - comfortable, full of tech, nice screens etc. Exterior a little tame I feel - could have done with copying the RS6's beefed up wheel arch approach for me!

Not sure it really is a competitor for anything Porsche makes. Maybe Panamera Turbo Estate - but this is now a more comfortable, luxurious car and has much less space and is rather more expensive so don't think there would be much cross over on potential buyers.

The M-B AMG GLC63 and GLC63S S SUV and SUV Coupe are the Macan rivals.

I like the look of the GLC 63 AMG. The stuck on iPad on the dash wouldn’t be my preference, but isn’t that offensive to me.

I am looking forward to trying the GLC 63 S when the demos arrive early next year. Also looking forward to trying the F-Pace SVR which is also strongly rumoured to be launching at the New York motorshow at the end of March.
