Two weeks on and I’m still waiting for Kitty.
All credit to the system which has updated me at regular intervals. However I feel that these updates have been somewhat speculative.
Through last week I’d been given an estimated completion of the 17th (slightly excited). Needing to know I phoned Spraymasters Friday afternoon to be told Monday (philosophical), probably Tuesday (philosophical and disappointed).
Received an update yesterday saying today and another first thing this morning also saying today so definitely excited.
And then about 15 mins ago a phone call to say she’s ready and when can I come down to collect (Very definitely excited)... only to receive another call a minute or so later to say... sorry, we made a mistake, we’re awaiting some special tape to affix the ‘blade’ to the passenger door. And it’s very special tape, sir, that has to come from Porsche.
Me. So presumably we’re talking days rather than hours.
SM. Errr... errr. I’ll phone Dick Lovett and get back to you.
Me. But it’s been over two weeks!
SM. Errr... yes... I’ll phone Dick Lovett....

Update! A couple of hours later and DL had found some so we collected an hour or so ago.
Looks like an excellent job. I noticed a couple of very minor issues and some missing stone protection which were rapidly rectified.
Such a difference compared to the Q5. Sublimely comfortable, significantly quieter an so much more involving and communicative.

At last.
Great news.
Would guess that the special tape is standard 3M 4611

Excellent news, all is well again.
It actually is helpful to taste a hire car from time to time and then appreciate our own cars more.

So true. I'd kinda got accustomed to it so it was such a pleasure to experience her again. I climbed in and pressed '1' on the seat setting. The 18-ways motored into place - so much lower and cosseting than the Audi. And once we hit the 419 the power kicked in. The Q5 - a 3l diesel Quattro - was quick but Macan really is in massively different class. Two happy campers as Mrs D cannot praise the Macan enough!

Thanks Simon. I was definitely suffering serious withdrawal symptoms. But the quick hit back from sunny Swindon has calmed me down a bit.Wing Commander wrote: ↑Tue Nov 21, 2017 8:12 pm Reunited with Kitty! . And all is right with the world!
