A bad week for the Caster Household - not only has my beloved SD suddenly been dropped from configuration/availability but so has one of the Good Lady's preferred new motors (to order this month) the Seat Ateca 1.4L! Apparently a reason for the latter was they couldn't make enough of the 1.4L VW engine to meet demand!
Hope they get the SD back on track for my next years Macan No 2 purchase as, like mark-yorkshire and Spud, I think it's a tough act to beat - especially for my requirements. If not, I might have to also consider an extended warranty to keep it longer or have a bit more detailed look at the petrol jobs!
PS....fingers crossed this years facelift doesn't do away with all the centre console switches (I could be on a loser there!) - if so, that could be another reason to keep mine longer!
+1 on the centre console switches. I can turn switches on and off without looking down just by memory. If switches go to a touch screen it will necessitate looking down.
Full touch screens will be fine in a fully autonomous cars where you can spend a full minute not looking at the road searching through the different options. Until then give me a button that does what I want.

It is hard to imagine the Porsche will give up on diesels altogether. There's no way the vast majority of current Porsche diesel drivers would consider buying a petrol. They'll just buy something else as none of the other prestige manufacturers are dropping diesel.

Looks like I will be hanging onto my diesel Macan until I see how it all pans out. Can only hope that the lack of a new diesel Macan might actually improve residuals.

The mood music in Europe is anti diesel, and I can only see this getting worse.
No doubt there are discussions at governmental levels across Europe with car makers on this topic, and it will be interesting to see how it pans out.
Diesels make sense for many drivers, but I don't fancy being caught in a political gunfight, particularly once some councils start pushing their socialist sorry green agenda. And we all know what an easy target cars are.
Equally petrol mpg = better for the Treasury . Helps pay for all of these smart motorways that can then tax electric cars!
