I'm sure alternate side parking would be a solution. But wouldn't that reduce the number of spaces available, not to mention the confusion it creates. Disincentive is a word that comes strongly to mind.

What I had in mind was parking on both sides but having only one side allowed on the pavement at a time - say alternate weeks. That way there's always passage available on one side.

Re alternate side parking...very much alive and kicking when I lived in France.

It worked very well apart from the Sunday night / Monday morning change-overs when early risers / late sleepers overlapped and caused mayhem until around lunch-time Monday!

I’d like to kerb the whole car. And this is actually well parked compared to some of her previous efforts.

We used to say, they are parked that far away from the kerb, they have to catch a bus to get to it. ;)
