Indeed. DIY

Feel like a professional detail this late in the season is a waste.

Plan to get a professional detail next spring. Undecided on ceramic coating.

My 6 hours included all of Autoglyms finest.
- non contact snow foam blast
- contact body shampoo Conditioner (2 bucket)
- resin polish (Fine cutting compound)
- HD wax coat (carnuba wax layer- claimed 6m protection)
- tyres and black trim treated
- interior leather clean and treat with hoover
- finished with dash clean. Non shine Matt finish.

Find it very therapeutic. And satisfying to see the results.

But then day after rained all day. 😬😬

Mine has ceramic coating as is going in next week for its annual inspection and interior detail. I’m also having the winter wheels coated whilst it’s there. Definitely makes washing easier.

Good to know kleynie.

I’ve spoken to a few detailers- get a mixed answer.

Paintwork correction with regular wax and careful washing was advised.

Guess it depends how OCD one is with washing their cars.

Any photos?

That's not detailing, just a normal clean for Forum owners!

If you want to try a Ceramic coating yourself, it's not hard, I highly recommend Gyeon Cancoat. It has a 6-12 month life and is easy to apply . I don't like "long life" ceramic coating as most cars could do with a polish once a year. The shine and gloss on Cancoat is really good and a £30 tin will do 4-5 applications or more.

I get my detailer to do a 2 stage paint correction every 1-2 years and then i apply this stuff inbetween.
