Not a fan of white Macans BUT with the sliver sport classic, it’s such a classy spec. V nice, enjoy

exterior and interior treatment by Definitive Detail in Chelmsford. I throws of dirt, bird droppings and water. Water just rolls off the windscreen - hardly have to use ther wipers. One tip though - I find that washer bottle additives cause windscreen streaking, so use only low concentration or pure water.
Interesting you mention screen wash causing Windscreen streaking. I had my detailer take the coating off my windscreen as the streaking was terrible, especially if it was only a light shower. Heavy rain was fine. I had to replace the wipers too and it’s finally back to normal. I will never monkey with the windscreen again.

^^^ Quite right, windscreens are best left alone regarding coatings, despite what all the sales blurb will tell you. And using only pure water in the washer is a bad idea too. Pure water will freeze very easily in winter, due to the small volumes, especially at the nozzles. If the water pump freezes too then it will be wrecked the moment you try to wash the screen.

I know our experience is perhaps not consistent with recommendations but I will offer it for information purposes.

We had a windscreen Gtechniq treatment, from new in Jan 2017, by a specialist Gtechniq approved detailer. Approximately 4 months and 1k miles later the car went to the OPC to have a stone chip repair carried out. At the time we also mentioned the juddering and noise from the front wipers. Although they did not apply the original treatment they were Gtechniq approved and reapplied the windscreen treatment.

To-date, (approx 3 years and 8k miles later from the reapplied treatment date) the rain still beads well and the juddering and noise issues have not returned. Better still the OPC informed us it was a nil charge rectification. Thank-you OPC. I know this goes against the general advice of not using OPC’s for detailing work but they did well. For full disclosure – we are still using original wipers.

The only reason we did not speak to the original detailer, who carried out the 7-year guarantee Gtechniq body treatment, (which still looks first-rate), was the distance we would need to travel to their premises.

It’s still on my glass roof and rear windscreen and I think it aids cleaning the car and the rear window clears very well on rainy days. It was on the side windows too and I’m on the fence about them. I think the next time I’ll either skip or just stick to the rear window. Appreciate everyone’s experience will differ but the fact I returned it to the detailer to have it removed should speak volumes as to how I feel about it.
