Yes great bang for the buck thanks.

A couple of thousand miles and I'll know more but first impressions are great.

Golf is a great machine too - a sort of mini Macan :D

If I'm honest it would probably suit me.
Thanks Scot... yes missing the Macan but it has gone to another enthusiast I'm sure..

Enjoying the new ride so far. ;)

It's a quirk of Fuelly - you must remember to select non-US units on the display rather than the US mpg default. Actual mpg is 32mpg in UK terms, or an indicated 34-35mpg.

I do a mixture of commuting, which is just 5-6 miles (but isn't practicably done any other way), local shopping and longer (50-100 mile) trips, usually at least once a week. (Though in these rural but heavily trafficked parts even the longer journeys are typically at 55-65mph max but with a lot of braking for Z-bends etc and then accelerating away again, overtaking etc.) But the commuting is pretty much daily so that obviously pulls the average mpg down as well.

Hi Jon,

Sorry to hear about the loss of the Mac T but welcome to the Golf R Club - I got my Golf R estate about 3 weeks ago, it's my second Golf R and pound for pound the best value fast car. I love the new Virtual Cockpit and Sat Nav system - I'm sure you'll have loads of fun in it!

All the best

Arif
