New station car...no logic

I changed my S3 to this at the end of the year.

For a daily 16 mile round trip to and from the station, it makes absolutely no sense, accepting that it is 4WD like the S3 which I need for the hilly roads in my immediate vicinity...it’s quite thirsty (pretty good though considering the engine), it takes about 7 miles minimum to warm up so no option to drive spiritedly (hoping this will get better in the summer!!) and it’s obviously larger than the S3, although it’s low sprung enough to just fit in the garage.

But it does have 510 bhp, and, like all hot V AMGs, sounds epic with the optional performance exhaust...thought I should enjoy them whilst they last...the next station car will I am sure be electric (which would make more sense!)...Mini Cooper S E next year perhaps.

Very nice. Some of the trim reminds me a bit of the GTS treatment of the Macan: satin/matt black wheels, red calipers, black trim...

...about the same size as a Macan, but clearly with a bit more power.

Probably sounds even better too.

A friend of mine has just bought one of these and loves it. Came from a RR SVR and thinks the Merc is way better

Its a bit better that the Skoda Citigo I used to use to get to the station when I was working in London a couple of years ago. Having said that it was perfect for the job as it was a couple of miles drive and you could squeeze it into some spaces the average car couldn't get into. Enjoy.
