Brake pads
Brake pad wear depends on your type of driving and can vary dramatically.
City driving and heavy braking and you could expect to change at 20,000 miles.
Mainly easy motorway driving and you could get 100,000 miles from a set of brake pads.
OPC should advise on pad wear as part of a service.

I got about 25k on my GTS but surprisingly the rears were more worn than the fronts. They have warning lights but even with the warning light on you will still have at least 500+ miles. The warning light doesn't tell you whether it is front or rear however. I changed all discs and pads at the same time - easy DIY job and I have posted on here how to do it. Expect £1000++ from OPC for new discs & pads front and rear.
Thanks for all your replies.
The only reason I'm asking is that I've received an email from my OPC which states - From the data we have available we believe your Macan will shortly be due for its front brake pads to be replaced (prior to your next scheduled service).
Car is 18 months old with 17k on the clock. Can't believe pads need replacing yet.

If you have already had a 12 month or oil service visit the only data they could possibly have is a measurement taken from that visit and you really would have to be completing a lot of stop start braking to show significant signs of premature wear. Think Paul’s point is spot on but it’s fitted with wear sensors so just rely on them and carry on until the next service indicator triggers.Tramcar wrote: ↑Mon Sep 28, 2020 7:19 pm Thanks for all your replies.
