Hi. I did a search but didn’t come up with anything. We just picked up our new GTS with PDLS. We didn’t think to check if High beam Assist (HBA) was an option and now in hindsight perhaps we should have gone for PDLS+ ;)

Anyone know if HBA can be retrofitted?

Cheers

Had this in the past on a Mercedes E-class, but didn't feel it reacted appropriately / quickly enough.

Happy to do it manually with the Macan.

We had it on our Tiguan. Wasn’t perfect but it did work well at least 90% of the time

I have it on an Audi TT and really don't like it.

I prefer doing it manually and don't like when it turns off by mistake.

Is HBA an option with PDLS?

I have it with PDLS+ and unlike my previous Audis it's not an on/off. It turns various LEDs off depending on the oncoming light source; you can see the light pattern changing in stages

As above; had it on my GTS and it was either too early or too late. I disabled it early on in my ownership of the car.

I think it works well enough. Regarding the retrofit, I think it depends on what other options you have as I believe it will need a front facing camera, I think it’s hidden in the windscreen above the interior mirror on mine. If you have speed sign recognition for example then you will have the camera.

I’ve got it on mine and I think it’s very good, seems to dip quite snappily. The headlights on full beam I think are awesome, with very good spread on the corners.

We’ve got speed recognition/front facing camera. So perhaps we just need a software update. I’ll check the PCM in the morning to see if we already have “dynamic high beam” that can be enabled

Had it on my first Macan, a pain when approaching highly reflective road signs, decided to ditch it on my replacement and go self select
