If you have keyless entry I wouldn't count it out. Could it be constantly trying to 'talk' to the car causing drain? How does the Audi compare to the Macan?

Car still at OPC NCL and I was first given a SEAT something , now in an Audi Q5.

They now think it could be the spare key triggering something from a distance.

Has anyone ever heard of that? Spare key trying to connect to the car and killing the battery in the process?

They want the key in the workshop.
I am puzzled. (and quite annoyed now)

I was wondering why the problem only appears when the Macan is back at your place, so there is definite logic to their theory (an unintentional signal interfering with the locking process). Perhaps someone else on the forum could try locking their car whilst at the same time pressing a button on the spare key, and see if it beeps. One would hope that the OPC have tried this with one of their cars first.

Is this a keyless system? I can only think the OPC may be thinking of a faulty spare key. Normally both keys at rest will be dormant and not trying to talk to the car. (That’s true of current keyless system but not sure about earlier ones).

Not keyless entry. I'll drop off the key later. The Q5 is not bad. You can tell they are related. More room in the back but you feel you sit higher.

Update.

I picked up the car last Wednesday. It has been fine since, until this morning. 120 mile drive and it beeped at the first stop when I had to lock it. Now OPC Newcastle say they can't find the fault and suggest the car to go back to Bolton.

I am frankly sick of it now.

On top of the annoyance, all cars with similar spec on the market (with OPC warranty) are now more expensive.

Car going back to Bolton - temporarily in a dreadful FWD SEAT something which almost left me stranded this morning.

I am very interested in Porsche GB's approach to this.

Beeping when you lock it to tell you that something is open is a pretty 'obvious' sign to the dealer that something is wrong or not.....so it suggests that they did something to stop it that is now occurring again?
Nothing on the dash. Even if I take the key out of the ignition and sit in the car and lock it, beeps but no dash signal.

The problem is that the dealer picks up the car when it's dead, they recharge it and then probably reset it. Then don't drive it enough for it to happen again.

It's not the other key or my house as it happened away from it.

Car now at Bolton so a fresh set of techs are looking at it knowing that I am considering rejecting it

Got the car back eventually. OPC Bolton were excellent. I will use again despite distance.

The problem was....

the rear screen defrosting circuit which if switched on, would stay on.

Found after many attempts.
