Now sorted. New connector for all of £7 from Amazon, complete with fuse and three status leds that tell you if the battery needs charged. Neat bit of kit and a real bargain.

Yes, I spotted that when buying ctek extension leads so also got one! It’ll be fitted to the 911 in the next day or so.
As you say, a really good gizmo at a great price.

What are the dimensions of the bolt you screw into the positive terminal? Thanks in anticipation.

I have used CTEK chargers for several years and always found them very reliable on cars & motorbikes.
On my previously owned 718 Cayman & Morgan Plus 4, I connected the charger via the 12v socket but have read that this can cause electrical problems. Does anyone out there have a view on that?
I really like the look of Madelvic’s under bonnet connection and I think I’ll go down that route on the Macan.

When I had the 911, I hard wired a trailing lighter socket directly into the battery. These are available on ebay with a fuse just in case there's an issue the CTEK. Very easy to use and never an issue.

Bet your OPC would have loved that to enable them to refuse a warranty claim.
2017 Macan S, Carrara White Metallic, Agate Grey Leather, 21” 911 Turbo Design wheels.
They did see it at the OPC and it wasn't a problem. I've seen them connect battery chargers in a similar manor. I known the people in Belfast a long time and they've always had my back when it came to warranty work. Thats how I think it should be with a good dealership. If I did something to damage the car I wouldn't be surprised if a warranty claim was rejected but there's no way a proper dealership should be trying to find daft excuses to reject claims. Why would they have rejected my leaking waterpump claim because a charger connection was on the battery?

Is there any evidence that connecting the charger through the 12v socket can cause problems with the car’s electronics??
