Took a photo under the bonnet today and notice that the engine mount and the chrome nut next to it is brownish in colour. Has anyone seen it before?

The engine control unit (the metal thing on the right of engine cover) seems to have water mark on it and dusty, how sealed is the bonnet supposed to me?

Engine compartments are never totally sealed. Water, dust and dirt still gets in.

The Macan is better sealed than many.

Signs of corrosion, probably not unexpected given winter weather and salted roads. The engine bay isn’t sealed given that the gearbox, drive shafts, steering gear etc all extend beyond it.
