I’ve spoken to the next nearest which isn’t part of JCT and they were of the same policy... appreciate comments, my analogy would be a £30 bottle of wine which the restaurant charges £180 or a 500% uplift.... looks like I’m going to have to cough up as unable to travel further

It’s a JCT that have let me take my own oil the last 4 years with no problems. Is the issue that you are speaking to the centralised call centre?

I Think it’s a home win for Porsche on this as the garage won’t give, even JCT Leeds say they don’t allow customers anymore to supply their own oil... understand business has to make a profit to cover overheads but a 500% uplift on oil is a pish take!!

The problem is that the above oil is NOT Porsche C20 approved, which is the spec for a Gen 2 Macan S 3.0 litre engine.

I’ve recently bought the following Mobil 1 0W20 C20 oil from Cox Motor Parts:-

https://www.coxmotorparts.co.uk/honda-s ... l-5-litre/
What's the difference between the two oils - they both seem to be Mobil 1 0W-20 ?

I am now, further confused (yet again) as to which viscosity oil to use (for my 2019 Macan S 3.0 litre engine): the handbook says SAE 0W-20 for petrol engines with particulate filter, up to 400hp; but, this was over-ridden by a sticker in the engine compartment, that said use Mobil 1 0W-30 oil, which is what I have been topping up with, and asked my independant mechanic to use for its first oil change after 12,000 miles.

However, when it came to my first 20,00 mile service at my OPC, they gave me a complimentary 1L container of Mobil 1ESP X2 0W-20 oil !

So which viscosity oil should I be using ? Also, how much oil would I need for an oil change ?

The difference between the two oils is the approved one is from the ESP range.

If you look in the handbook for your car it says that if there is a conflict between the under bonnet sticker and the handbook then the sticker takes priority.

Thanks for that, Peter.

Yes, I realise that the sticker under the bonnet, saying to use SAE 0W-30 takes priority; but I'm wondering, in that case, why my OPC gave me a 1 litre courtesy bottle of SAE 0W-20 oil after the car's first service, and probably refilled my engine with the same wrong oil too - thus ignoring the sticker; and why are other forum members still talking about using SAE 0W-20 oil ?

The sticker in the engine compartment of my 2020 Macan S states that the recommended oil is Mobil 1 & SAE 0W20 & Porsche standard C20.
